Frequently asked questions
The questions people ask us most before they start. If yours is not here, send us a message — we answer in Farsi and English.
What is Norah?
Norah — راهِ نو, "a new path" — is an online platform that connects Farsi-speaking people, wherever in the world they live, with professional support for personal growth, relationships, and family life.
We work in Farsi, with people who understand not just the language but the cultural background and lived experience behind it: adapting to a new country, distance from family, differences between generations, and the pressures that come with building a life somewhere new.
Norah offers coaching across areas such as anxiety, mood and emotions, relationships and couples, parenting, sexuality education for children and teenagers, behavioural habits, immigration and adaptation, and personal growth — alongside psychotherapy, couples therapy, and family therapy.
How do I get started?
There are three steps:
1. Tell us about you. Share what you are looking for and what you would like support with.
2. Get matched. We recommend a coach or therapist suited to what you need and to your background.
3. Book your session. Meet online, privately, at a time that works where you live.
Your first conversation with us is the free 30-minute intro session — you do not pay anything to find out whether Norah is right for you.
What happens in the free 30-minute intro session?
It is a 30-minute conversation, free of charge, to understand your situation and work out the best path together: which kind of support fits what you are going through, and which coach or therapist is the right one to work with.
It is not a full session, and it does not commit you to booking anything afterwards. Many people use it simply to ask questions and see how the conversation feels.
How am I matched with a coach or therapist?
We do not hand you a long list and leave you to guess. You tell us what you are looking for, and we recommend someone whose specialism fits your needs and who works in your language and cultural context. The free intro session is where that match is discussed and confirmed.
I live in a different country — how does scheduling work across time zones?
Scheduling across time differences is something we plan for rather than leave to you. When you book, your provider's available times are shown in your own local time, so you pick a slot that genuinely works where you live — not one you have to convert in your head.
